Artist, Author, and Comic Creator, Joanne Kwan (sometimes known as “Jo”) has a background in art and design but ultimately, telling stories is their greatest passion.
Instead of having an imaginary friend like one would expect of an only child, Joanne crafted days-long adventures for their toys. No need for siblings for home interaction, bah. And when they began developing their drawing skills, they created stories with original characters that were drawn on printer paper and lined notebooks. It was only a matter of time before they began tackling written narratives. Truly their imagination has been Joanne’s oldest and closest friend.
They currently live in Northern California with their husband and cat.

About My Stories
“There’s no question that I love the paranormal, the fantastical, and whatever that may raise an eyebrow or two. And I love rolling all of that into the stories I create. But if ever there was a calling I would heed, it would be to diversify expressions of romance.
For most of my adult life, I’ve noted myself as ‘not a romantic, but not aromantic.’ I’ve never swooned over fluffy romances, or pet names like ‘babe’, or popular phrases like ‘you’re being such a good girl for me.’ No. Maybe it’s my atypical brain, but I find the heart-swelling moments in other places. And it’s these places that I want to reflect in my own work.
*And if the story has no romance, then there is most definitely a central platonic friendship.”
